Pulford Handbell Ringers
Pulford Handbell Ringers is now ten year’s old. A group of 7 people got together in 2004 and using the church’s 18 handbells met regularly to master the simple skills needed. With practice the group gradually improved and by Christmas gave its first shaky performance in the church.
Over the years things have gradually improved. We have had the original bells refurbished, and have extended the set by adding 8 new bells at a cost of £3,275. Through various fundraising activities we have been able to donate £400 to the PCC and £660 to the Pulford Church Tower Fund. In addition about £600 has been raised for various charities. There are now 10 regular ringers, 3 of whom have been with the group from the beginning. We meet in the village hall every Tuesday evening to practise and enjoy a sociable evening
We are becoming quite well known around Chester and are frequently asked to entertain at various venues such as clubs, care homes and charity events. Christmas is an especially busy time, with more demands than we are able to meet.
The group has gone from strength to strength and is now firmly established.
